"Heartbreak Hotel" guitar lesson – solo & chords w/tabs

The year was 1956 and Heartbreak Hotel was a chart topping number one singe for Elvis Presley. Tommy Durden and Mae Axton wrote the song in 1955. Axton says that the idea for the song came from a news article in the Miami Herald about a man jumping to his death from a hotel window, leaving a suicide note with the single line, “I walk a lonely street”. Recently there has been reports that the tragic inspiration for the song may only be a urban legend. Now while Elvis was basking in his success of his new hit single a certain little hotel in Kenansville, Florida would have it’s name changed to The Heartbreak Hotel. Many photographers and reporters visited the building, believing it to have been the inspiration for the song, instead it was the other way around.
