Guitar Lessons For Beginners: Before You Quit, WATCH THIS FIRST
OK. I know learning guitar can be frustrating. As. Hell. It’s no kazoo.
And as a teacher I’ve learned that a good percentage of the students who quit do so because of poor instruction.
Poor instruction means skipping steps that shouldn’t be skipped.
Some people can jump right into learning how to play a G chord with 4 fingers, for example. Some others need to start with one finger. The folks who can do it with 4 right off the bat aren’t destined to be better guitarists than the ones who start with 1. That’s just the way it goes sometimes.
So if you count yourself among folks that see beginner guitar lessons as still too hard, DON’T WORRY. It doesn’t mean you’re not cut out for this, any more than a seven year old who struggles in reading class isn’t cut out to read.
So learn the techniques in the video. Play G and C with one finger. Watch a video on how to tune your guitar in “open D’ and jam the hell out. You’ll get there. You just need some confidence.
If you try these last 2 things I show you in the video and it’s still too hard, still not fun, well hey, you gave it your best. There’s always the kazoo.
